Noel Gallagher – Dream on

Right, the plan was when I created this blog to immediately review Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds album immediately, this didn’t happen because I’m a lazy forgetful twat that can’t remember a lot of things. So, because it’s his next single and that I thought I would review this one. When I listened to the album, all the songs were really fucking strong, I couldn’t pick a weak one out of all of em’, I really couldn’t. But this song is probably one of my favourites, along with ‘I wanna live in a dream..’ (I fucking love that) and ‘AKA Broken Arrow’, not slating the other songs on there but those are personal favourites of mine.

I really like the start of this song, sort just a slow dread and it sort of scares you if you listen to it in the dark on your own. I also like the chorus (even though it’s a bastard to sing), The Cheif has a nack of just writing, brilliant songs with brilliantly catchy chorus’, which I think is one of the most important part the song and he nails it every time. Although the song is quite simple, simple chords, simple strumming pattern, it takes nothing away from the song. Also what did we expect from Noel, a really tricky piece with hundreds of chords? Na, he’s never been that sort of guitarist, he’s just effortlessly brilliant. Also it has a piano in it, which is pretty cool? yeah? yeah? yeah? yeahhhh….

A masterpiece from the cheif, fuckin’ brilliant no wonder he’s a Godlike Genius, for me he ain’t far off being God.
